ENGINE SHED 2 – our home is expanding!
Our hustling and bustling home Engine Shed is set to expand following the announcement of one of the largest urban regeneration projects in the UK. Recently revealed plans show that a new £300m university campus will be developed on the derelict site of the former Royal Mail Sorting Office near Temple Meads and will include Engine Shed 2.
Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees praised Engine Shed’s contribution to Bristol, lauding the hub as “hugely successful in supporting new entrepreneurial businesses and delivering economic value to the city.”
The announcement comes off the back of wider plans to extend the city’s Enterprise Zone into parts of Redcliffe and – with its emphasis on forward thinking in technology and business – is sure to cement Silicon Gorge’s burgeoning reputation as the country’s foremost region for innovation.
