The West of England Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership

The Growth Hub is hosted by the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and funded through the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) by the Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

 WECA is made up of three of the local authorities in the region – Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Working with our partners including the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, North Somerset Council and other partners, our aim is to deliver economic growth for the region and address some of our challenges, such as productivity and skills, housing and transport.

Invest Bristol & Bath - Invest Bristol & Bath is the inward investment arm of the West of England Combined Authority. Its role is to support the region’s priorities by promoting the region as the number one location to invest, work and live in. Invest Bristol & Bath provides relocation support, research, property advice, skills and talent, networking and connections to growing companies within the region as well as those looking to relocate. Future Bright - Future Bright aims to help residents in paid work and receiving benefits to top up their income, by supporting them into secure, more meaningful and better-paid careers.

Career progression coaches work with eligible individuals to help them improve their earning potential and income, by providing tailored personal and professional development. It is run by the West of England Combined Authority working with Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils, and funded by the Department for Work and Pensions. Adult Education Budget - From the 2019/20 academic year, the West of England Combined Authority is taking responsibility for the Adult Education Budget and how it is delivered. Devolution of this budget will help WECA to address the skills challenges that affect our residents and businesses, supporting inclusive economic growth. The Careers Hub and Enterprise Advisers - The Careers Hub works with schools and colleges across Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, supporting them to improve career opportunities and work experience for young people.

Enterprise Advisers are trained volunteers from the local business community who work with schools, sharing their expertise to help improve careers advice and work experience opportunities for young people. The Enterprise Adviser Network, run by the West of England Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership, is looking for more professionals from local businesses to volunteer.
