Delivering a project through an effective process is a proven formula for project management success. APMP builds upon this knowledge and understanding to help you grow into a committed and capable project professional.
Who should take the course?
APMP is suitable for anyone embarking on a career in project management or looking to add project management skills to their portfolio.
Benefits – individual?
Attendees gain a good understanding of what a project is and what a project manager’s job involves. This includes techniques such as risk assessment, planning and reporting and ‘softer’ elements of project management such as communication, motivation and teamwork.
Benefits – organisation?
APMP will benefit the organisation as a whole as attendees gain a fully rounded appreciation of what is involved in managing a project. This is beneficial to organisations as it can increase productivity, improve competitiveness, fill skills gaps, and develop a committed and competent work-force. Through having a highly skilled and qualified project management community, organisations can achieve competitive advantage and improved project delivery.
There is only one exam for APMP, which is the Practitioner. It is 3 hours long and takes place on the Friday afternoon.
On successful completion of the associated APM exam (the cost of which is included in the course fee) the APMP qualification is gained. In each case, it is the full APMP qualification which is awarded. Current holders of APMP are exempted from the PRINCE2 Foundation examination.
The same course also caters for those who have already qualified as Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, please see the course page for APMP for PRINCE2.
