Next Generation Careers: 2017 Review - The Future of Employment and Skills
What are the current and future skills needs of employers in the West of England?
In partnership with the West of England LEP, Skills West, at Business West, has been working with businesses in the region to understand the skills and training needs across all sectors now and for the next generation.
We are hosting events throughout the region, which all providers of education or learning are welcome to attend. We will be presenting an overview of our findings and disseminating our 12 Local Sector Skills Statements whilst highlighting our work with education partners.
You'll gain up-to-date information to share with your teams, or individuals you work with, to help shape your organisation's future thinking and planning over the next year.
During the seminar, our sector skills specialists will present highlights from the 12 Local Sector Skills Statements and up-to-the-minute findings from our 2017 Business Skills and Training Survey.
You'll hear from training providers on their provision and what exciting plans are developing for 2018. You will also receive a copy of the 12 Local Sector Skills Statements and have the chance to find out;
- What the skills needs and challenges are for the region
- What curriculum and careers advice support is out there
- How the education landscape is responding
- How the business landscape is responding
- Opportunity to network with the local education providers/careers/advice support organisations
Professor Steve West, Chair of the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, said:
“The statements contain valuable intelligence that can help education and training organisations ensure courses and qualifications meet the needs of our employers. As a region we need to work together to improve the quality and relevance of careers advice, and provide clearer routes into sustainable and rewarding careers for our residents.”
Please note: This event is for West of England (Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire & North Somerset) organisations only. Places are limited. We may only be able to offer one place per organisation/training provider.
