The Creative Skills Hub provides a flexible ‘virtual’ model to connect local creative & digital businesses across Bristol & Bath with business support advice, access to talent and advice on skills related issues.
|Specialities:||Creative and digital skills|
|Area Served:||Bristol, BANES, North Somerset, South Glos|
The aim of the Creative Skills Hub is to support small businesses to connect with the right talent, up-skill their staff and also ensure talent can find the right pathways into employment.
The creative & digital industries are growing - recognised as a priority sector for the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership and vital to the development of the Enterprise Zone in Bristol Temple Quarter and Bath.
Essential to growth is the workforce and skills of that workforce.
The identified skills gap between talent supply and the shifting needs of a dynamic and developing creative sector.
Created in 2013, under a UKCES funded scheme – the CSH was set up as an exciting partnership between the West of England LEP, creative Skill set and Creative & Culutral Skills. To date we have engaged and worked with over 300 companies, supported 120 young people into work and helped over 36 companies develop internship and apprenticeship programmes. We have a large twitter and facebook following and are currently developing a website to host content and advice.
With current government changes to skills provision, potential devolution of skills funding to local areas, drives to ensure businesses employ apprenticeships and an imminent levy on businesses to support this agenda. Small businesses will need support to navigate the already complicated skills landscape.
Aiming to connect, inspire and work together with industry, the ‘Creative Skills Hub’ can;
- Promote and support the growth of the creative and cultural sector
- Create connections between industry, talent and skills providers
- Work to support companies to sustain and retain talent
- Promote diversity and best practice within the sector
The ‘Creative Skills Hub’ is a connector of success for talent, businesses and skills provision, a central point of contact and a network hub for the creative & digital sector in Bristol & Bath.
Meeting the needs of a diverse creative and cultural sector
