Whether you're a café or restaurant owner, farmer or butcher, as a food business operator you are required by law to ensure that your business is producing and selling safe goods.
Your local food safety team can equip you with the right tools to get you started. This includes everything from pre-build advice to ensuring your kitchen is compliant, or getting your procedures down – temperature monitoring and cleaning practices.
Direct impacts on your business
You must register your business with your local authority 28 days before commencing business and ensure you have a food safety management system in place.
It is your responsibility to ensure your business premises are compliant and you have a food safety management system in place. Your local authority’s food safety team can support you by:
