Any waste that comes from a commercial activity is business waste. If you use part of your home to run your business then any waste from that part is business waste.

You will need to contract your local council’s waste department or a private waste removal company to remove waste safely and responsibly from your property.

Your local authority will specialise in waste removal for small and medium sized businesses that some larger private firms may not cater for.

Cost Explanation: Costs associated for disposing at local waste station:

Disposing of trade waste costs £130 per tonne. There is a minimum charge of £40.

Disposing of green waste costs £60 per tonne. There is a minimum charge of £25.

Using the public weighbridge costs £12.50.

  • Advise you on how to keep waste to a minimum by doing everything you reasonably can to prevent, reuse, recycle or recover waste (in that order)
  • A member of the team can visit your premises to access the likely amount of waste your business activities will produce
  • By using your local authority you will be assured compliance as they also are enforce waste and recycling measures in your area(Please remember you are under no obligation to contract with your local authority)
