It's free and open to all entrepreneurs, start up businesses and established SMEs in the West of England - that’s Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

These important assets which often go unrecognised, can play and important role in the sustainability and growth of your business both domestically and internationally. All businesses need to protect their IP, and with the EU transition coming, you need to prepare now more than ever.
NatWest has partnered with Be the Business to bring you a free mentoring service for female entrepreneurs in the West of England. Backed by the government, this free 12-week mentoring programme gives female SME leaders and entrepreneurs access to advice and guidance to build their businesses.
To take part, you need to:
- Run an established business
- Identify as a woman
- Live or run a business in the West of England Combined Authority Area.
This programme supports the launch, stabilisation and growth of non-EU migrants’ businesses through personalised business support.
Our EDEBS project will support businesses through a network of volunteer mentors in the business sector, a digital platform for learning & training resources and one-to-one coaching. Led by ACH and with partners from Bristol’s School for Policy Studies and the West of England Combined Authority. This project has been part funded by the European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

These Spark Learning Sessions will give you insight and get you talking. They’ll give you the confidence to tackle the gaps in your financial knowledge. You’ll get a whole range of support, tools and resources, and build up an action plan to improve your business finances.

Creative Scale Up is a programme funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. It aims to help creative businesses in the West of England access finance through an intensive sustainable growth support programme. The programme mobilises regional and national investors and educates and encourages them to invest in our hot-bed of creative businesses. Each business on the programme is be part of a cohort receiving a minimum of six months intensive business support.

Export and trade
A pilot Export Academy scheme has been introduced to support smaller businesses in the South West begin their exporting journey. Applicable to a wide range of businesses, whether you want to start exporting, or you’re aiming to enter new markets, we’ll help you overcome many of the common challenges that small businesses can face.
The Export Academy will deliver a series of activities that will build your capabilities, creating a new cohort of confident businesses ready to trade.
This pilot programme is designed for owners and senior managers of businesses, and to qualify your business must:
- have a turnover of up to £500,000
- be located in the Midlands, North of England or the South West of England
