Better Business for All is Highly Commended

The West of England Better Business for All (BBfA) group was presented the ‘highly commended’ award in the BBfA category at this year's Regulatory Excellence Awards in London.

The Regulatory Excellence Awards are hosted by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to celebrate those pioneering best practice in regulatory work. Out of 37 entries, winners were announced before an audience of regulatory and private business sector professionals.

The West of England BBfA group was established back in January 2017 and has since made huge strides in progressing its work programme to improve regulatory compliance and understanding across its districts. The group is made up of Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, South Gloucestershire Council, Growth Hub, Avon and Somerset Fire and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Lorna Savidge, West of England BBfA group coordinator commented: “We are extremely proud to be honoured with this acknowledgment of the work we’ve done so far. In a short space of time our group has really worked together to achieve our objectives. Our strategy stays driven by the businesses themselves, through feedback and the excellent joint work with the Growth Hub and Local Enterprise Partnership.”
